However, there are plenty of adrenaline-rushing rides, which makes it perfect for the entire family.

Holidays and weekends are obviously the busiest days, so if you can visit on a weekday, we suggest you do!

The queues for some of the most popular rides can get up to 90 minutes. There are Speedy One tickets available if you want fast-lane access.

The Rides

Walibi Belgium boasts more than 40 rides and features a combination of less thrilling Walibi Belgium rides for kids and exhilarating ones for adrenaline seekers, like Pulsar. At 100km/h, it takes you to a 45-meter high dive.

The parks listed below are smaller and don’t feature such big rides. They are still a great choice to spend a couple of hours up to a half day, especially if you have younger kids.

#5 Mini Europe (Brussels)

If youโ€™re planning to stick to the capital, you might find Mini Europe a convenient detour for the whole family. It’s the only sight that can be labelled somewhat of a theme park in Brussels.

Plaza de Toros in Mini-Europe
Book a ticket to Mini-Europe and see more miniature monuments like Plaza de Toros.

Mini Europe is one of the most unique amusement parks in Brussels as well as in Belgium.

It has more than 350 monuments featuring 80 cities, all in miniature size.

Kids will have a lot of fun as they identify all of Europeโ€™s dashing landmarks. On top of that, you can see tiny lego-like scenes and many of the attractions are interactive.

You can include the park on your Brussels itinerary along with nearby spots such as the Atomium that’s conveniently located next door.

Sadly, pets are not allowed in the park, but the great thing is itโ€™s 100% wheelchair accessible. Each ticket also comes with a Guidebook in multiple languages to make sure your experience at the park is educational and relaxing at the same time.

Where to stay

If you want to enjoy city life but stay not too far away from Mini-Europe, we recommend the traditional Belgian townhouse of B&B Marianne. It’s surrounded by bars, restaurants, and supermarkets to get what you need quickly.

Plopsa Coo is part of the Studio 100 parks and is filled with television characters and attractions for everyone!

The park opened in 1976 as TรฉlรฉCoo, a theme park in the vicinity of the popular Waterfalls of Coo. In 2005, it became part of the Plopsa group.

It’s a great amusement park for kids and you can easily spend a half up until a full day. Also, don’t forget to check out the waterfalls of Coo themselves, they’re the biggest waterfalls in Belgium!

The Rides

Kids can have the fun of their lives with quick splashes at the Maja Splash. Apart from wet hair, they can feast their eyes on Maya the Bee figures and other characters in eye-catching colours.

#7 Plopsa Indoor (Hasselt)

One of the cons of playing around in a theme park is the rain. Your plans all go to waste when rain suddenly comes pouring in.

If you want to take your kids on a trip without worrying about a drizzle, having fun at Plopsa Indoor is one of the best things to do in Hasselt.

๐ŸŽ  The rides

The Belgian theme park is spotless, and youโ€™ll be amazed at the number of attractions you can find in this indoor theme park.

Plopsa Indoor is a small world for kids to enjoy.

It does not have rides that may fill the need for speed for adrenaline junkies, but it has several fun attractions to put a smile on the face of younger children.

Families can take a calm water ride in The Ducks and The Little Boats.

There are rides fast enough to excite the kids, such as the Bumper Cars, Flying Bikes, K3-Whirligig, and more! It’s one of the best amusement parks for small kids in Belgium today.

Our all-time favourite is the Theatre where kids can see their favourite characters dancing and singing live. The Bumba show is available in French and Dutch.

If you’re planning a weekend trip to Plopsaland Indoor Hasselt, book a night at B&B Sasput. This charming Bed & Breakfast offers family rooms and is the perfect base for a weekend in the capital of fashion.

If theyโ€™re still relatively small, thereโ€™s always the Mini Beach and Kiddie Bay, where they can play with other kids.

While all remaining amenities are suitable for adults, we mostly enjoyed the speedy bobsledding at the Bi-bob. Riding a large tube, youโ€™ll go down a 140-meter slide. It feels like youโ€™re riding a roller coaster with twists and turns.

Another one of our favourites is the Flash! The name itself tells that you will be experiencing high speeds while riding a transparent tube.

Thrill-seekers will have the time of their lives as they start sliding down from a 7.5-meter altitude at speeds reaching 50 km/h. The 45ยฐ angle makes you feel like youโ€™re going on a free-fall instead of an ordinary slide.

If you come during the holidays or special days, you may just be lucky enough to get access to theatre shows or circuses, like the Dinosauria Expo.

BELGIUM TRAVEL PLANNING RESOURCESย

Getting to Belgium: Fly into one of the main international airports: Brussels Airport (BRU) or Charleroi Brussels South Airport (CRL). Take an international train to Brussels South Station. Or take a ferry to Dover or The Netherlands, then drive or take the train to Belgium.

Getting Around: For the major destinations, the train is by far the best option. You can book your train tickets here. If you’d like to visit smaller places, the most convenient way would be to rent a car. We always use Discover cars, they compare all the rental companies and give you the best rates.

Accommodation: Booking.com is the most popular accommodation platform in Belgium. It’s what I use every single time.

Guided tours: Use Get Your Guide or Viator to find fun tours in Brussels, Bruges, Ghent and Antwerp. Or Guruwalk to find free walking tours in multiple destinations.

If this helped you plan your adventure, a coffee would go a long way in fueling my next guide! ๐Ÿ˜‰
