Location

The castle is located just a short drive from Tongeren and Hasselt, making it the perfect base for exploring the area. But with all the amenities on offer, you may just want to spend your time relaxing in the castle!

Rooms

This 5-star medieval castle has been beautifully restored and offers 34 luxurious rooms. There are 5 types of rooms available: comfort- and luxury rooms, suits, and junior suits. Differing only in size.

Facilities

In the spa area, you’ll find a hammam, Finnish sauna, infrared seats, and an experience shower which are exclusively available for hotel guests. A swimming pool and jacuzzi are not available in the wellness centre.

If you want to use the wellness area you have to make reservations at the reception of this castle hotel.

All the rooms are 33m² except for the deluxe rooms which are 37m². There are 6 different suites available.

You have 4 different room types to choose from: standard single room, superior twin room, deluxe business room, and an executive room. The biggest difference is the size of the room. The suites are the biggest and are 55m².

Good to know if you come by electrical car, the hotel has a charging point available which you can access for free if you are a guest.

The city of Anthisnes isn’t that big to spend a day visiting different tourist attractions. But 6 km from the town is the Grotte de Comblain and 15 km away is the city of Luik.

Amazing breakfast ! And I didn’t expect that for the price the access to the swimming pool and jacuzzi were included. Next time I would love to spend more time and enjoy the cocktails and the restaurant in this lovely place.

It’s a breathtaking view of the surrounding scenery from the castle. It was built on top of a rock in the valley of the river ‘L’Homme’. Being in the middle of a forest, it’s very inviting to go hiking or check out the wildlife and the fishponds filled with Fario trout.

The ‘Tour de Dinant‘, on the other hand, has the exceptional atmosphere of a medieval donjon. The Suites, Cottages, and Tour de Dinant can accommodate up to 66 people in total.

Located 35 min drive from Maastricht, Kasteel Wurfeld is situated in Maaeseik.

In front of the castle is a park of 2.5 ha with a number of old trees accompanied by a pond, and a lane to the Kapelweg.

The hotel has been expanded recently and now comprises 33 atmospheric castle rooms, including all modern comforts.

Going from standard 1,2,3 up until 4-person rooms. They also have a family room available as well as a superior 1 or 2-person room. The room sizes go from 22m² up to 40 m².

Unfortunately, there is no spa or wellness center on the property. But you can visit Aquadroom which is located in Maaseik as well.

An extended breakfast buffet is included in the price.

The hotel also offers different arrangements, like the castle arrangement where you get a discount starting with 2 nights. Another one is the romantic discover arrangement, which includes a minimum of 2 nights, a 3-course dinner one day and a 4-course dinner the other. And you can get a ticket to the Archeological museum of Maaseik.

Fantastic place if you want to cycle or walk and enjoy a very good diner.

As far as the surroundings go, don’t miss visiting Lake Genval. Where you can take a stroll or row a boat. The Sonian forest is also pretty close at 5.6 km from the hotel. Which is 4383 acres large and spreads over the regions of Belgium. It’s perfect for a day of hiking with family or friends.

If you are in castle mode, only 2.7 km away from the hotel you will find Château de Rixensart.

Rixensart Castle, a magnificent example of Brabant heritage dating from the 17th century, is one of Belgium’s most famous castles.

Rixensart Castle is a beautiful example of 17th-century Brabant architecture. The gardens follow the design of André Le Nôtre, and Princess de Mérode chose the interior decoration.

The city of Genval is only one kilometer away from the hotel.
